INDIO, CA — Jojo Diaz improved his record to 13-0 with a dominant fourth round stoppage over Robert Castaneda last night on Golden Boy Live! at the Fantasy Springs Casino.
Diaz’s offense was as sharp as it was brutal — the 21-year-old prospect punished Castaneda with combinations of flush hooks to the head and body. Castaneda couldn’t break through Diaz’s defense and found his offense sluggish from Diaz’s body attack. Castaneda opted to quit after the fourth, claiming a broken right hand.
Diaz’s win is his 5th of 2014. Castaneda falls to 21-8, having lost seven of his last eight fights going back to 2012.
