Swanson Communications founder and public relations guru Kelly Swanson will step into the ring tonight at New York’s famed Gleason’s Gym to raise money and awareness for the “Give a Kid a Dream” foundation.
The charity’s mission is to use boxing to offer mentorship, networking opportunities and positive social outlets for inner-city youth.
Serving as the publicist for stars such as Floyd Mayweather and Bernard Hopkins, Swanson has worked closely with Golden Boy Promotions for the past several years, ranging from Mayweather’s record-setting 2007 year to the recent record-breaking “The One” event with Canelo Alvarez.
Tonight’s “Fighters4Life” Showcase can be streamed via www.GFL.tv or http://www.gleasonsgym.net/. The event begins at 6 p.m. ET with Swanson’s fight scheduled for roughly 8 p.m.
