[Mixtape] Curren$y – “3 Piece Set/ A Closed Session”

Curren$y is back today with his umpteenth release of the year. Entitled 3 Piece Set/ A Closed Session, the project features three songs produced by Thelonious Martin. Those who enjoy Spitta over jazz (70s funk and fusion-based) samples should enjoy the beats here. Although Curren$y’s voice and flow at times sounds stilted against the rhythms on “Get Out” and “Yella Cab,” it doesn’t detract enough to make the songs unbearable. Young Roddy is featured on the songs and they’re all short, keeping mostly a one verse a piece format.
