Miguel Cotto and Austin Trout completed their weigh-ins earlier today for tomorrow’s Showtime matchup. Trout, who will be defending his WBA light-middleweight title, had a light hiccup making weight and had to shed his boxers to make the 154 pound limit. Cotto had no issues and made weight on his first try.

Prediction: Trout is a very patient and confident fighter, so I don’t expect him to get rattled by the crowd tomorrow night. He’ll fight tall and look to counter Cotto’s aggression and plodding style. Where I see Trout getting into trouble is during exchanges,  since he has the tendency to go wide with his shots. This is where Cotto’s shorter arms will be an advantage and at some point, that left hook will sting and likely drop the champion. Also expect Cotto’s right hand to land on Trout, who does use good upper body movement to avoid shots but is prone to not moving his head. Cotto isn’t a big hitter at 154, Trout should be able to hold up even if Miguel mixes in some good body punching. Cotto UD12 Trout.
