Rick Ross ft. Dr. Dre & Jay-Z – “3 Kings”

Rick Ross has let one of his biggest records off new album out of the bag with the Jay-Z and Dr. Dre-featuring “3 Kings.” The beat is an excellent, smooth soundscape for Ross and Jay. Dre’s ghost-written verse definitely his songmates’ fingerprints all over it. Ross delivers a solid verse. Jay has some good lines (“Stuntin’ to the max I’m so wavy…”), but overall this comes off like a phoned in effort from Mr. Carter, especially on a track claiming kingship. At times it sounds like he literally just woke up after a long night with Blue Ivy. Taking the beat off at the end didn’t help matters either. Solid song, but hopefully Ross has some more heat on God Forgives, I Don’t on July 31.
