Brandon Rios and Richard Abril wrapped up their final press conference yesterday in Las Vegas. Rios chose to keep it civil this time and talked up his alleged improved conditioning in making the lightweight limit. Abril would have no part of a pre-fight truce, insulting Rios one last time by stating he was only “50% Mexican.” Those words made Top Rank officials opt to not have the fighters do the traditional photo-op stare down. Mike Alvarado and opponent Mauricio Herrera were also on hand to discuss their undercard bout. The card airs live this Saturday (April 14) on HBO pay-pre-view.
