Middleweight champion Sergio Martinez and Matthew Macklin will be on hand today in Times Square for their last public workout ahead of this Saturday’s (March 17) title bout on HBO.
The event takes place outside of Modell’s Sporting Goods (234 West 42nd St. Between 7th and 8th Ave.) starting with Martinez’s workout at noon followed by an autograph session at 12:30 pm. Macklin starts his workout at 12:30 pm followed by his own autograph session at 1 pm. Autographs are for anyone who buys a pair of Everlast gloves.
In addition to the fighters, their trainers Pablo Sarmiento (Martinez), Buddy McGirt (Macklin) and promoter Lou DiBella will also be in attendance.
Martinez-Macklin will be held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Tickets are priced at $505, $355, $205, $125 and $65, and are on sale now. Tickets can be purchased through the Madison Square Garden Box Office or through Ticketmaster, at Ticketmaster.com, or by calling (866) 858-0008. Starting Wednesday at 9 AM, there will be a 10% discount off the $505, $355 and $205 tickets when you purchase through Ticketmaster using the code ‘MODELLS’.
