Manny Pacquiao has countered yesterday’s Floyd Mayweather Twitter call out by requesting their proposed May 5 fight be moved to May 26.
In a prepared statement on his official website (www.mp8.ph), Pacquiao asked that Mayweather be flexible. Several months ago, Mayweather revealed his reserved May 5 date for Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena
“Manny Paquiao wants to make it clear the fight can happen at the end of May,” read Pacquiao’s statement. “Manny wants Floyd to relax his grip on May 5 so the fight can happen for the fans.”
Mayweather is set to begin a 90 day prison sentence on June 1. Despite several recent statements from Pacquiao that he wants the Mayweather bout next, his promoter Bob Arum has maintained the fight should be moved to November to maximize financial gains.
