Rick Ross Rich Forever: The Album Lead In or Main Course? [Mixtape Download]

While listening to the near 18 tracks that make up Rick Ross's new Rich Forever, you can't help but wonder how many of these tracks were meant for his delayed but much-anticipated God Forgives, I Don't. The elite guests in Nas and Drake ceretainly weren't spitting throwaway verses.

While listening to the near 18 tracks that make up Rick Ross’s new Rich Forever, you can’t help but wonder how many of these tracks were meant for his delayed but much-anticipated God Forgives, I Don’t. The elite guests in Nas and Drake ceretainly weren’t spitting throwaway verses. There’s about 5-6 songs here that could make a good cornerstone for an album. Does Rozay have better heat in the stash or has he blown his load early? Hard to say either way — the first five songs here are cool, but close enough in arrangements and content that it makes sense to unload them for free. Like the recent Nicki Minaj joint, Ross’s Kelly Rowland-featuring ladies song “Mine Games” just comes generic (a more soulful beat would’ve done wonders). Overall, Rich Forever represents an artist that’s comfortable remaining in the confines of his successful formula. Based on this, expect another good but similar project when the next album drops.
