This time last year, Nicki Minaj and her unstable alter ego Roman Zolanski struck an even balance with the venom spewed at rival Lil Kim on “Roman’s Revenge.” At first, the same script follows here with sonorous synths and Nicki’s speedy bars. The difference is that “Roman In Moscow” discards standard song structure (hook, three verses) which Nicki, or more likely Roman, points out flippantly towards the end. Not something you’ll go back to as much as “Roman’s Revenge,” but we’ll see how it fits in the context of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which drops on February 14.
