Last night’s first episode of 24/7: Cotto vs. Margarito was the series at its best. With all the heated controversy between these two fighters, there was no need to manufacture any ill will. Neither Margarito or former trainer Javier Capetillo could completely explain the picture of Margarito’s wraps after the Cotto win. The issue of Margarito’s bad right eye obtains further credence due to his use of shades and a revealing close-up. Cotto has the most emotional on-screen moment of his career when he speaks about his father, who passed away suddenly last year. The roles of “hero seeking redemption” and “villain” have been perfectly cast. The final episode airs next Saturday (November 26) at 10 PM ET.
