MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, NEW YORK CITY — Featherweight Mikey Garcia (27-0, 23 KOs) remained undefeated with an impressive fourth round TKO of Juan Carlos Martinez (19-12-1, 7 KOs) last night on the Donaire-Narvaez undercard. Both fighters stood their ground early on, exchanging solid hooks on the inside. Martinez drew the first and notable visual damage by swelling Garcia’s left eye. In the third, Garcia dropped Martinez off a compact left hook during an inside exchange. Garcia pressed his advantage in the fourth to floor Martinez again, this time off a straight right. Garcia would use this shot to score a third knockdown. Martinez beat the count but could not keep Garcia off him, prompting the referee stoppage at the 2:40 mark.
