Black Star has returned! To put in perspective how long the wait was, this duo dropped their critically acclaimed debut when I was a sophomore in high school. I’m now damn near 30. Nonetheless, “Fix Up” sounds like Mos and Talib are going to make it worth the wait. The chemistry is still strong as the pair trade strong, allusion-heavy lyrics over soulful boom-bap that is wholly modern while still having hints of nostalgia from their Lyricist Lounge days. Black Star is currently on tour, so make sure to check them out if they hit your area.
