Tone Loc Faces Felony Domestic Violence Charges

Rapper/actor Tone Loc is out on bail following a June 18 arrest in Burbank, California for an alleged fight with his child's mother.

Rapper/actor Tone Loc is out on bail following a June 18 arrest in Burbank, California for an alleged fight with his child’s mother.

According to authorities, the 45-year-old Loc (Anthony Smith) was in jail only a few hours before posting the required $50,000 bond. At press time, no other details are available.

Loc is known for his Top 5 1989 hits “Wild Thing” (2X platinum) and “Funky Cold Medina.” (platinum) Both singles were featured on Loc’s double platinum debut Loc-ed After Dark.

Since 2000, Loc has utilized his signature deep vocals for voice-overs on animated shows like Chowder, Static Shock and King of the Hill.

Definitely not happy to see Tone Loc getting back in the news this way. From the $50k bond he posted, his finances are at least in decent shape. That’s more than we can say about a lot of rappers from that era. We’ll see what Loc has to say about this incident. Until then, did anyone else recall the domestic violence movie scene with Tupac when they read this news?
