“Are you willing to take the test!”
BELL CENTER, MONTREAL, CANADA — Ever wonder if Bernard Hopkins is on steroids? That’s apparently on the mind of light-heavyweight champion Jean Pascal, who challenged Hopkins earlier at their first press conference to submit to blood testing.
Olympic style blood testing is the main reason why Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have yet to get in the ring. Pascal was able to escape with a draw due to scoring two knockdowns against Hopkins in their first encounter this past December. This is the first time Pascal has brought up the idea of testing, and to everyone’s knowledge there is nothing on their signed contract that requires it.
Hopkins clearly felt insulted by Pascal’s insinuation. When Pascal attempted to lighten the mood by putting his arm around Hopkins, he received a hard shove in return. According to observers, the pair spent the rest of the press conference, which was close to an hour, arguing about the matter.
