Andre Dirrell has been on the shelf for a year with lingering neurological effects (headaches, dizziness etc) from his disqualification win over Arthur Abraham last March. The above picture is the result of a recent sparring session Dirrell had with George Groves, who’s preparing for a match with James DeGale on May 21. Dirrell posted the picture himself and thanked Groves for the good sparring.
Since Dirrell is sparring, it’s safe to assume he’s been medically cleared to get back in the ring and take shots to the head. It’ll be interesting to see how he fits in the super-middleweight landscape following the end of the Super Six. Who should be Dirrell’s comeback opponent?
