“Next time, I promise not to touch my opponent for three rounds…”
Even with confirmed reports that Odlanier Solis suffered ligament and cartilage to his right knee, Vitali Klitschko is arguing his KO victory on Saturday (March 19) was the result of a punch.
Solis was doing well against Klitschko throughout the first round before his attempted to rush the Urkrainian champion. Klitschko landed a clubbing right hook, causing Solis to back pedal before crumbling to the mat and clutching his knee.
We’ll never know how Solis would have done if the injury didn’t happen, but you’d think Vitali Klitschko would be a little more understanding considering the massive backlash he got for quitting against Chris Byrd with three rounds left due to a rotator cuff injury. Not to mention Vitali was winning that one big. His reputation wouldn’t be redeemed until years later when he lost a spirited brawl against Lennox Lewis. Nonetheless, this fight is just further confirmation that no one except David Haye has a chance to dethrone either Klitschko.

Proves what an idiot Vitali is, how can He say that there wasnt a legit injury, maybes He talking this bravado to hide the fact Solis had success against him, or the to keep people interested in the possible Haye fight… I think its classes to dismiss Solis like that, and attack Solis creditability… Someone told Me that He picked the injury up before the fight also…
