“I got four fighters that can probably beat him…” -Arum on Donaire
Now that Nonito Donaire is out from Bob Arum’s stable, there’s not much positive he has to say about his former fighter. In this clip from Manny Pacquiao’s official website, Arum states that Donaire is not a ticket seller, his own Filipino people don’t support him, and his wife Rachael’s style of dress is “tarted up.” We’ve heard this story before. When Floyd Mayweather was with him, Arum proclaimed him the greatest fighter he’d ever seen. We all know how that turned out, so there shouldn’t be any surprises here on Arum’s stance.
Aside from Donaire, Arum gives some good info on their promotional plans through CBS to really make this a huge fight. From the sound of things, it appears Arum is going to have Pacquiao on a media blitz the entire month before the fight. Regarding Pac’s next opponent, Arum says Juan Manuel Marquez will be the most attractive fight in November sans Mayweather coming through. Don’t be surprised of Marquez signs with Top Rank before the year is out.
