Joell Ortiz’s long-awaited sophomore LP, Free Agent, now has a confirmed November 30 release date via Entertainment One Music.
Free Agent’s guest appearances include the Lox, and features production from Just Blaze, DJ Premier, and DJ Khalil. The lead single, “Sing Like Bilal,” is produced by Premier and has been added to Hot 97’s playlist. The song will also be featured on Premier’s Year Round Record’s compilation Get Used to Us.
Ortiz’s debut album, The Brick (Bodega Chronicles), was released in 2007. The project established Ortiz as a credible solo artist following his departure from Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records. Last year, Ortiz and his fellow Slaughterhouse members received critical acclaim for their self-titled debut.
Ortiz is currently on a national U.S. tour, and plans to expand his schedule to dates in Canada and Europe for December and February, respectively.
