Jay-Z & Beyonce Rumored to be Expecting First Child

Reports are circulating that power couple Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) and Beyonce Knowles are anticipating the birth of their first child.

US Weekly broke the new earlier today, citing through confidential sources that Beyonce is now in her first trimester. The pregnancy is rumored to be unplanned, and puts a halt to her plans to do another album and international tour. 

“B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn’t ready to be a mother just yet,” said a confidential source to US Weekly. “She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again.”

Another confidential source says that Beyonce is viewing the pregnancy from a spiritual perspective. The source says the singer sees “this is a gift from god and she’s so happy.”

Jay-Z nor Beyonce has confirmed the news. However, Beyonce’s younger Solange sister appears to have verified the veracity of the reports in a statement to US Weekly.

“She’s got the most beautiful heart,” said Solange, who gave birth to her son Daniel in 2004. “She’ll be a great mom.”

The child will be the first for Jay-Z (40) and Beyonce (29), who married in 2008.

Congrats to the couple! Having a child unexpectedly is life-altering, but at least here we know Jay and Beyonce have the means to handle their responsibilities.

Their biggest problem is going to be handling the media circus they’ll endure over the next nine months. Every single detail about their pregnancy is going to be front-page fodder. I’m sure they’re used to themselves being in the news, but those protective, parental instincts will kick in. I expect them to be just as private with their child as they are about their marriage.

In about 10 or 15 years, Will and Jada might be getting some competition from the Jay and Beyonce dynasty.
