Below is the complete interview and bonus footage of Eminem’s 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper. The piece was very interesting to me not just as a follower of Hip-Hop music, but as someone who’s been watching with interest how mainstream media outlets are covering Hip-Hop culture. While many of them don’t have the grasp of history that many Hip-Hop journalists and publications have, journalists like Katie Couric and Anderson Cooper are approaching their subjects with a seriousness that’s lacking in many of our own outlets.
Can this type of journalism become the norm for Hip-Hop media, especially online? Would the fans accept it, or bemoan it as boring?
Of course, I love the boxing references from both Em and Cooper to kick off the conversation.
