[Video] Raising Kanan Ep. 306 Review: Ronnie a Bad Character? Kanan in the Hustlin’ Elite, Lou’s Wild Confession

Can Ronnie carry this season as the main antagonist.

After Unique’s brutal murder, Raising Kanan episode 306 “Into the Darkness” focused on the lane opening for Kanan’s rise and the final break in Lou and Raq’s relationship.

The brooding Ronnie has recruited Kanan to help him move weight around Queens. This brings Kanan into the sphere of Ronnie’s supplier Ishmael “Pops” Henry and other elite hustlers.

Meanwhile, Raq fails to make amends with Lou, resulting in the latter exposing her mistaken murder of Scrap to the victim’s mother.

Overall, the episode is a comedown from the Unique’s surprise murder last week and a bridge to storylines for the season’s second half. Unfortunately, the episode exposed the shortcomings of the Ronnie character as a main antagonist. His one-note personality traits, which heightened his menacing aura as a background foe, creates unintentionally comedic moments during scenes with Kanan and Juliana.
