Over 20 years after his debut, Redman can still come as sharp as ever. From the opening remarks (“I need a beat… Not no turn-up beat, I need elements, some Hip-Hop!”), Red draws a line in the sand with the “rap jingles” that pass as singles in today’s Hip-Hop, and what the Newark, NJ legend was about to do on the mic. Take notes, young emcees. If Redman brings it like this on Muddy Waters 2, we just may get a sequel to rival with Raekwon did on his Cuban Linx redux in 2009.
