With most Hip-Hop fans still in disbelief about Macklemore’s win for Best Rap Album at last weekend’s Grammys, Fabolous has emerged to defend him. As a guest yesterday on ESPN’s First Take, Fabolous went against the crowd, who were chanting “overrated,” and his co-hosts in stating Macklemore’s “diversity” and appeal to the “Grammy crowd” got him the win. In other words, Macklemore’s music was much more friendly to the mainstream crowd as opposed to someone like Kendrick Lamar, who most feel should have won it (and Macklemore himself stated on Twitter that Kendrick was robbed).
Note how careful Fab is with his words and the look on his face. That’s the look of a man not trying to burn any potential bridges.
