It’s been a trend over the last year or two to make songs (with annoying chants) using the name of random celebrities. Nothing Rapsody does is random, and she adds a serious tone to this piece by invoking the name of the late activist and wife of Malcolm X, Betty Shabazz. With some strong drums and a melodic, dreamy vocal sample, Rapsody lays out what type of emcee she’s in the vein of.
