A joint statement from the camps of David Haye and Tyson Fury has confirmed a signed contract is in place for a September 28th match at the MEN Arena.
Although no titles are at stake, the statement declares Haye-Fury will eclipse all other heavyweight fights this year.
David Haye and Tyson Fury, both world-ranked, charismatic and dangerous, have agreed to a highly anticipated domestic showdown on Saturday, 28 September at the Manchester Arena.
It marks not only the biggest heavyweight encounter of 2013, but also the biggest fight staged in Britain for many years.
Haye has remained inactive since knocking out Dereck Chisora last summer, hoping to land another big title match with the Klitschko brothers. He previously called off a June fight with Manuel Charr due to a hand injury suffered in training.
Fury came off the canvas in April to score a seventh round KO over Steve Cunningham in Madison Square Garden.
Per the BBC, a London press conference is currently in the works for this Thursday (July 11).

I’d pay just to watch these guys talk trash, let alone an actual fight. More than likely, the press conferences will have more action than the actual fight if we go by how Haye has fought past giants (Wladimir, Valuev). I don’t expect things to be any different with Fury being 6’9.
The year-long layoff is a concern, but Haye should be favored. If he lands a “Hayemaker” like Cunningham did in that second round, you can be sure Fury won’t survive. On the other hand, if Fury is able to maul like he did in the Cunningham bout, then Haye is in for a long night (and a possible KO defeat).
