Ghostface has made a career out of eating up soul samples like thist. But this time? “Family Reunion” isn’t a bad track, but it doesn’t come off like a smooth fit with the rest of the Wu on it. Maybe it’s due to the samples just being looped. Or maybe my ears are too accustomed to a more sinister sound when the majority of the Clan is present. Nonetheless, their stand-out performance at Hot 97’s Summer Jam and this song bodes well for the possibility of another full-length LP before the year is out.
