Curren$y ft. Wale “What It Look Like”

“Mainstream cheese but I ain’t acting like y’all…”

Curren$y is back with the first offering from his new project The Stoned Immaculate. From the sharp, rolling harp melodies to the backing string instruments, the beat is excellent. The loudness of Wale’s vocals, especially on the chorus, is jarring against the dreamy atmosphere. Wale’s verse is solid, but he so dominates the first two minutes of the track that some people will think its his song over Spitta’s. Curren$y drops a standard Spitta verse (weed, women, money — rinse, repeat), but hsi voice fits much better with the track. Overall, “What It Look Like” is a strong offering that shows Curren$y is flexing that Warner Bros. budget to good use on the production end.
