While Zab Judah’s low blow complaint against Amir Khan last night (July 23) was unmerited, Kevin Engel was the victim of a legit missed low blow on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights (July 22). Like Khan, Anthony Dirrell was dominating the fight from the beginning, even scoring a knockdown off a straight right. But unlike Khan, Dirrell’s fight-ending shot was clearly low. Engel’s protests were ignored as the referee counted him out. Although Engel seemed to be on the road to being KO’d, this is still a tough break because all it takes is one punch to turn things around.
