“They stole my belt…”
Former WBC middleweight titlist Sebastian Zbik says his loss last Saturday (June 4) to Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. was a complete robbery. Although he admits below that he was slowed down heavily by Junior’s body work, he believes he won the last two rounds and his opponent didn’t do enough to take the title.
Early on, I thought Zbik was on his way to a dominant victory; he was hitting Junior at will with power punches. But Chavez put on the pressure and used his massive frame (180 pounds on fight night), to maul Zbik in close and work him with a consistent body attack. Zbik, a fighter without power, did Junior a favor by trying to out fight a much bigger man up close.
Not a robbery in my book.

Zbik did impress me, but like Yuri Foreman, you can only go so far with excellent skills and no power. I think Chavez won a close one, but I guess it could have gone either way.
And really, it’s Martinez’ belt anyway. He’s the only one who got robbed.
