Look no further than this latest track featuring a red-hot Freddie Gibbs, “Scottie Pippen.” Alchemist tailored his production to fit Curren$y’s New Orleans drawl, crafting a beat that has the bells and whistles synth effects Spitta fans know from his previous work (This Ain’t No Mixtape) with the darker string instrumentation that are Alchemist staples. It’s a quick song; the emcees only deliver two verses. Spitta gives a good intro and Gibbs goes about eviscerating the track flow-wise on the second verse, something that’s become a common occurrence with him in recent months and likely to continue under Jeezy’s CTE label. Will Covert Coup top both Pilot Talk offerings? Don’t be surprised if it does.
