“It’s not Showtime, it’s one fucked up judge!”
We had a great semifinals of Showtime’s bantamweight tournament last month with Abner Mares vs. Vic Darchinyan and Joseph Agbeko vs. Yonnhy Perez. Next weekend we move onto the finals with Mares facing Agbeko and Darchinyan squaring off with Perez in the opener. There was some controversy over the scoring and point deductions in the Mares-Darchinyan bout, and Showtime has finally released the aftermath footage. Darchinyan tried to put the blame on Showtime, which his team quickly corrected and attributed to “one fucked up judge.” These guys are the best of the division outside of Nonito Donaire, so expect two very good and possibly great fights on April 23. The card will kick off at 10:30 PM ET.
