Atlantic Records brought together a group of young, talented artists to discuss their approach to the music industry. Moderated by former Vibe and current Billboard Editor-In-Chief Danyel Smith, the group reflected on maintaining musical integrity, the importance of the live show, and fighting commercial trends. You’ll hear some irony here, considering the recent creative issues Lupe Fiasco has had with Atlantic. According to Danyel Smith, this footage was actually recorded in Spring 2010. Atlantic Records is just now releasing it in time to celebrate Black History Month (smart move…). Parts two and three should be coming shortly.
