Nas and Damian Marley “Patience” [VIDEO]

Despite mostly positive reviews for the their Distant Relatives project, the duo curiously only released one video for it (last year's "As We Enter"). It may be a little late, but they resolved that oversight with a dreamy visualization of one of the LP's best tracks, "Patience."

Despite mostly positive reviews for the their Distant Relatives project, the duo curiously only released one video for it (last year’s “As We Enter”). It may be a little late, but they resolved that oversight with a dreamy visualization of one of the LP’s best tracks, “Patience.” Nas more than holds his own, but Damian Marley is the star of this song. He touches on Rastafari spirituality, media exploitation, and societal hypocrisies. The video style is what we saw from Kanye’s “Power,” and more recently Bilal’s “Levels.” Hopefully this doesn’t mark the last contribution from these two. I’d personally love a street video for “Nah Mean.”

For those who weren’t aware, the vocals are actually a sample loop from the blind, Mali dup Amadou & Mariam. Both are featured prominently in the video. Their original track can also be heard below.
