I can’t even begin to imagine how Joey Abell is feeling this morning. I’d be dejected enough if another man knocked me out. But to kiss me after beating me up?! Oh the humiliation. That’s exactly what Chris Arreola did following his dominant first round stoppage over Abell on ESPN 2’s Friday Night Fights. Abell had no power to keep Arreola off him, and the Mexican heavyweight just bulled through his punches. Trapped against the ropes, Abell’s head was snapped back from a straight right. He never recovered, and Arreola forced a ref stoppage a few seconds later with a flurry. A dazed Abell did not protest.
While Abell was still out it, Arreola planted a kiss on his cheek, which can be seen below at the 3:56 mark. A lot of fighters trash talk about making their opponent their “girlfriends” in the ring. Arreola actually did it.
