“Catch” is the latest single from Mr. Brady’s October 2010 release Labor of Love. The San Diego artist’s name may not be familiar, but Mr. Brady has paid his dues by working with the likes of Diamond D, Killah Priest, Guilty Simpson, Blu, and Evidence.
Although Brady can rhyme, his greater talent arguably lies with producing, which was his focus on Labor of Love. Ironically, he recruits Aloe Blacc of Emanon fame to forego his own acclaimed singing chops. Brady’s production here has that mellow, coffee vibe. But that doesn’t dull Blacc’s energy, who keeps the song engaging with quick bars on his ambition to be the best.
