Last week, Kweli hit you with a clip for the combative “I’m On One.” Today, the Brooklynite comes with visuals for Ski Beatz’ gospel-tinged production on “Cold Rain.” The theme of the video comes from the movie Book of Eli. But instead of a religious book being mankind’s savior, the subtle hint is that liberation can come from liberation can come from the power of music. Lyrically, Kweli posits an inclusive vibe for everyone (“This is for the day trippers/ And the hipsters/Warriors and the fashionistas…”). He also speaks of the influence of social networking on potential revolutions, and the problem of religious fundamentalism. From the ending, it looks like the next video will be for “How You Love Me.”
