Sade Inspires Joe Budden to Find an Extraordinary Love

There's some brutal honesty here, ranging from why men emotionally shut down, to the emotional scars women bring into their current relationships. Considering Budden's resume when it comes to female relationships, it should be no surprise that he could come with a track like this.

“If I keep something from you, I promise it’s all innocent…Before you say you love me, how much of it can you tolerate?”

When it comes to love, this time of year can bring three drastically different emotions. If you’re in a stable union, you’re reflecting on the blessings of having your partner in your life. If it’s chaotic, you’re wondering if the pain and uncertainty is worth it going into another year. And for the single crowd, it can be a mixture of a little loneliness, and being grateful for having one less gift expense. With Joe Budden, it’s a combination of the first two. His track record with women is well documented through his own Joe Budden TV, and various Hip-Hop blogs. On this Christmas Eve, he’s figuratively (or perhaps literally?) challenging the love of the current woman in his life.

As his backdrop, Budden utilizes Sade’s “No Ordinary Love.” That classic song’s mournful, dirge like pace works well for Joey, who ruminates on the clashes created by his shortcomings, and insecurity of his woman (“You can’t talk about marriage/And giving birth/If you hit the dirt/Every time you think I lift a skirt/It grows tiresome…”). There’s some brutal honesty here, ranging from why men emotionally shut down, to the emotional scars women bring into their current relationships.

Considering Budden’s resume when it comes to female relationships, it should be no surprise that he could come with a track like this. It’s one that both men and women can enjoy listening to. Outside of the beginning 30-45 seconds, which addresses on other emcees, the track is strictly focused on the male-female dynamic.  The song fadeout occurs with Budden still rapping, and that only serves to get you ready for Part 2, which we can only assume will drop tomorrow.

Somewhere, Sade is smiling.
