Laila Ali has confirmed she’s pregnant with a baby girl.
The former boxing champion shared the news earlier today through US Magazine, and verified a name for she and husband Curtis Conway’s second child.
“Speaking of my growing family…I am so excited and pleased to announce that I am having a girl!” Ali exclaimed. “Her name will be Sydney J. Conway.”
At 32 years old, Laila Ali has settled completely into family life. She advises her fans to remember to enjoy the quiet moments with loved ones, as well as set future goals for 2011.
“The older we get, the faster the years pass,” she told US Magazine. “So I constantly try to remind myself to take time and enjoy life, because tomorrow is not promised. This is a great time of year to reflect on the past 12 months, set goals for the next 12 months, and enjoy time with your family.”
During her sports career, Laila Ali’s physical beauty led to her becoming a rare sex symbol in boxing. Even pregnant, she is still cognizant of her shape, and only indulges in junk food once a week.
“…I fight the urge as much as I can,” she explained. “To help maintain my self-control, I allow myself a ‘cheat day’ on Saturdays, when I can eat whatever I want. I’m not talking about a nibble of this or that, but literally whatever I want. I love Saturdays!”
Sydney J. Conway will join Laila Ali’s son, two-year old Curtis Muhammad Conway Jr., and three stepchildren aged 11 through 15.
