Who else is loving this new trend of everyone dropping EPs? It reminds me in the mid 90s with Pac sparked everyone dropping double albums. The big difference now is you’re getting all this music for FREE! First up is producer Oddisee, who’s been grinding heavily this year. Fresh off his high quality work with Trek Life’s Everything Changed Nothing album, he’s links up with Stik Figa for a new this EP called From the Top. The pair will follow-up this 5 song project with a full album in 2011.
REDMAN HAS BREAKFAST FOR THE STREETS
Before you hear Redman’s Reggie album next week (December 7), check out his new mixtape Pancake & Syrup. The full tracklist follows the download link.
IMAKEMADBEATS
Why drop one EP, when you can release two? That’s the philosophy behind producer IMAKEMADBEATS’ new project Daylight, which is the first offering of a two-part series (Daylight/Nightlight). Calling both Memphis and Orlando home, his aim to have the songs speak on the “duality of life,” and he’s enlisted rappers Butta Verses (Daylight) and Midaz The Beast (Nightlight). The free versions of each project will be edited, while the later physical copies will be uncensored.
The Nightlight EP will hit the net on January 18, 2011.
