Mood Muzik Monday 10/18/10: Budden Brings the Titans

A finale by nature should be two things: memorable and satisfying. Joe Budden does his best to cover both those points with the last installment of his Mood Muzik Mondays. And Joey is not alone, bringing along Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, and Royce da 5'9 to give the series a fitting sendoff.

“There’s a cost to be a boss they can’t clearly afford…”

A finale by nature should be two things: memorable and satisfying. Joe Budden does his best to cover both those points with the last installment of his Mood Muzik Mondays series. And Joey is not alone, bringing along Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, and Royce da 5’9 to give the series a fitting sendoff.

Every emcee in a battle mode, raging against imaginary foes and making sure they’re not the track’s weak link. They all excel on their own ways: Fab’s witty punchlines, Budden’s lyrical allusions, Banks’ flow, and Royce’s energy. Posse cuts are always dissected by fans regarding who had the coveted best verse. In this case, there’s no huge leap in quality separating each emcee. Personally, Fabolous and Budden sounded the most natural riding the beat, with their voices flowing smoother than Banks and Royce. Between Fab and Joe, I’d give a slight edge to Fabolous for those witty lines on King’s Dream, and indirectly taking credit for Kat Stacks getting slapped.

But more importantly than all that, “Remember the Titans” is a good song that is another promising indicator of what we’ll get next week with Mood Muzik 4.
