Shannon Briggs Hospitalized with Fractures & Possible Neurological Damage

A prolonged, 12 round beating at the hands of Vitali Klitschko has resulted in Shannon Briggs being indefinitely placed in the intensive care unit of Hamburg, Germany’s University Hospital Eppendorf.

Yesterday (October 16), Briggs challenged Klitschko for the WBC heavyweight title. Briggs was never in the fight, taking very hard overhand rights and left hooks to the head throughout the contest. In the later rounds, Klitschko landed as much as 30 flush power punches per round. The damage resulted in Briggs suffering bone fractures below each eye socket, and being observed for nuerological damage associated with a concussion or cerebral hemorrhaging. The title challenger also suffered a torn tendon muscles his left arm.

    This why second rate/over the hill fighters (especially Heavyweight fighters because they hit so hard) shouldnt Be campaigning at the top level, and they need to retire, there needs to Be maximum age you can fight to…
