Earlier today in Hamburg, Germany, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko and Shannon Briggs gave their final press conference in preparation for their title match this Saturday (October 16). The 39-year-old Klitschko will be making his fifth title defense against Briggs, 38, who’s won three bouts this year by KO against lesser competition. Briggs is a decided underdog due to past weight and stamina issues. The title challenger therefore made it a point to take off his shirt to show everyone that he was in shape and ready for Klitschko. The fight will be Briggs’ first title shot since losing the WBO strap in 2007, and Klitschko’s first fight in Hamburg since 1999.
