Mood Muzik Monday 10/4/10: Joe Budden’s Stormy Weather

To hype his forthcoming Mood Muzik 4, Joe Budden started a "Mood Muzik Mondays" for the next three weeks. Like Kanye and Lloyd Banks before him, Budden will be releasing free music until the release of Mood Muzik 4 on October 26.

“Nothing stays the same forever, not even me…”

To hype his forthcoming Mood Muzik 4, Joe Budden started a “Mood Muzik Mondays” for the next three weeks. Like Kanye and Lloyd Banks before him, Budden will be releasing free music until the release of Mood Muzik 4 on October 26.

This latest track, “Black Cloud,” was heard as a snippet on Joe Budden’s last Mood Muzik 4 trailer. The somber, ochestral production is the perfect template for Budden’s dark thoughts in his personal and professional shortcomings. Despite his success, the “black cloud” referenced in the title is a nod to an impending disaster that the New Jersey lyricist always feels is near. Sometimes the follies are self-created, and other times instigated by peers.

“Fans recognize my misery, uplifted me/Shifted me to my epitome/Guess the curse is a gift to me,” Budden spits. “Maybe it’s serrendipity/Maybe it’s wearing on me physically/Maybe I should tell God not to solicit me/Been medicated/Meditated/Sedated/Hated/Character assassinated/All these years I masqueraded…”

Heavy bars, but nothing new to the fans of the Mood Muzik series. The project can be pre-ordered at http://gracieprod.com/joebudden/
