Pictures & Footage from Amir Khan-Marcos Maidana Press Conference

"Maidana has done a lot of talking and he's talked his way into a fight now," Khan told the present media and fans earlier today. "Unfortunately for him, his mouth isn't going to help him in the ring and I'm going to prove to him that I'm on another level on December 11."

Earlier today, Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana officially kicked off  the promotion for their December 11, WBA title match.

The fight will be Khan’s second defense and appearance in America, this time at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay. Both fighters have spent much time over the past few months accusing the other of ducking. In the 11th hour, both camps worked out their contract issues to prevent a purse bid.

For Khan, he is seeking to silence remaining doubters who still cite his 1st round KO loss to Breidis Prescott as proof of a glass chin.

“Maidana has done a lot of talking and he’s talked his way into a fight now,” Khan told present media and fans earlier today. “Unfortunately for him, his mouth isn’t going to help him in the ring and I’m going to prove to him that I’m on another level on December 11.”

Maidana is viewed as one of the hardest punchers in the 140 pound division. The Argentinian promised to force a slugfest, and believes the world we’ll see that Khan does not deserve to be a champion.

“Khan’s been running from me for a long time,” Maidana explained. ” But the running stops on December 11. I’ll show him how a champion acts and fights when we get in the ring in Las Vegas.”

HBO will broadcast the fight live as a headline event of World Championship Boxing.
