Bruno Mars is currently making headlines for all the wrong reasons. He’s the latest celebrity to be caught dabbling in cocaine. But the latest leak from his debut Doo-Wops & Hooligans should provide some small relief for the in-demand songwriter.
“Liquior Store Blues” has arrangements steeped heavily in the reggae tradition (think a more pronounced version of the acoustic stylings on Bruno’s “Billionaire” feature). Bruno’s voice is very vibrant throughout the work. Damian Marley continues his lyrical excellence this year that began on the Distant Relatives album.
Doo-Wops & Hooligans hit stores on October 5.
