WBA heavyweight titlist David Haye advised former friend Audley Harrison to keep his mouth shut regarding talk of a potential fight.
Haye took to Twitter this morning to address Harrison’s claims that they already a contract in place to meet at the MEN Arena on November 13. Haye implied that the potential clash was a long shot and depicted Harrison as desperate for a big payday.
“Shut the fuck up Fraudley,” Haye spat. “If somehow we ever do fight, that career high payday you crave won’t cover your medical bills! Pipe down.”
Since contract negotiations failed earlier this year with Vitali Klitschko, David Haye has remained quiet on potential opponents. Last week, he promised in the near future to reveal his plans and the reasons for the failed Klitschko negotiations.
As of last month, the #1 ranked challenger by the WBA for Haye’s belt is Ruslan Chagaev. Audley Harrison is not ranked by any of the sanctioning bodies nor RING Magazine.
At press time, Harrison has not responded to Haye’s comments.
