Former Olympic gold medalist Audley Harrison is claiming that he’s signed a contract to face WBA champion David Haye in November.
Written off years ago as a legit contender after several disappointing losses, the 38 year old now believes he is the fighter to re-ignite interest in the heavyweight division at Haye’s expenses.
“I’m as bored as every other fight fan about hearing why you won’t accept fights, what are we in this game for?” Harrison taunted on the UK’s Sky Sports, alluding to Haye’s contract failings with the Klitschkos. “I say try and win titles and create legacy but if its money you want then outside of the Klitschko fight I’m the only guy that makes you money.”
Harrison revealed that his promoter Matchroom Sport has been in negotiations with Haye’s manager Adam Booth for the past month. Each side has allegedly agreed to a contact but Haye has yet to sign off.
Already hyping the rumored clash, Audley Harrison challenged Haye to make an “all-Britain” heavyweight showdown.
“So let’s stop with the bullshitting, man up and get this fight signed,” he demanded. “So bring on the Battle of Britain and I will be the Hayebreaker come November 13.”
David Haye’s (24-1, 22 KOs) last fight was a successful April defense against American John Ruiz, who he knocked out in nine rounds. Audley Harrison’s (27-4, 20 KOs) last bout was a dramatic come from behind 12th round TKO of Michael Sprott. The fight was a rematch of their first encounter in 2007, which Sprott won via a third round KO.
Haye vs. Harrison will take place at the MEN Arena on UK PPV.

Battle of Britain? Audley Harrison a draw? You’ve known me to add editorial side pieces to the end of news articles, but I’ll defer to Shaquille O’Neal on this one. He can sum this up better than any words I can muster.
