Earlier today, Danny Green (30-3, 27 KOs) scored a highly controversial 1st round knockout over a comebacking Paul Briggs (26-4, 18 KOs).
The video has just surfaced of Briggs getting knocked out by a grazing left jab. The fans immediately became irate and showered the ring with debris after the fight was called off.
Green was equally upset, and believes that Briggs should not receive payment for his performance. He took the microphone and tried to calm the crowd by vowing to make sure a thorough investigation would happen.
“There is not one more person in this room jacked than me. I can’t say sorry enough for that person. He ain’t even a canine. Paul Briggs ain’t getting paid a cent,” promised Green, who gained some international notoriety last year when he knocked out Roy Jones in one round. “I don’t blame each and every one of you guys in here for being filthy. I want to go to the change room right now and give him the flogging he deserves.”
So far, Briggs has yet to comment on his performance. One commentator claimed Briggs suffered a similiar loss early on in his career. Also, this was Briggs first fight back since 2007, following tough battles with Tomasz Adamek in 2005 and 2006.
Is the knockout legit? Judge for yourself.
