Wu-Tang’s Raekwon is seeking to build on the critical acclaim of 2009’s Cuban Linx II with a new project featuring Nas and Eminem.
Raekwon announced the news today via Twitter (@Raekwon). Originally Nas was supposed to make an appearance on Cuban Linx II to follow-up his legendary verse on “Verbal Intercourse.” The reason for the absence has not been disclosed, although Nas has lauded Raekwon’s Cuban Linx sequel in interviews.
“Also seen my brother @nas tonight as well and there’s a lot more collabos in the works for us but also got some footage 4 yall!” Raekwon stated.
Today (July 10) Raekwon is on tour in Switzerland and posted a picture with Eminem. The photo is colored with Rae’s trademark purple from the original Cuban Linx, and Chef promised another all-star collabaration soon.
“Ok since yall dont think its me imma show yall,” he Tweeted. “Just met my dude @eminem today in switzerland, collabo gonna happen.”
The latest verses from Raekwon and Nas can be heard on Capone N Noreaga’s War Report 2, set for release this Tuesday (July 13).
Eminem’s latest LP, Recovery, is currently Billboard’s #1 album with over 1 million copies sold.
